Grocer reconsiders

Coborn’s, the St. Cloud-based grocer, that was part of the Shingobee proposal for the downtown expansion project has removed itself from the project. A market study didn’t reflect the numbers Coborn’s felt necessary to build a store. According to Holly Kreft, community development director, Shingobee will bring a new proposal to the city, again with a retail focus. The city has also continued talks with Doran Companies of Bloomington, the other developer who presented a concept to the city several months ago.
